Based on the type of courses there will be different views for a learner.

For Standard View Courses

There are 3 tabs

            1. Learning Declaration Tab

The Learner Declaration is presented to the learner the first time they log in.

They have to place a tick in the I have read and agree to terms and conditions and then click on the START YOUR E-PORTFOLIO button.

The learner declaration is then displayed to the Learner and Tutor and IV/EV accounts.

            2. Learning Tab

The Learning Tab is optional for some courses. If the learning tab has items in then it is shown, however, if it is blank then it will not appear for the Learner.

        2. Resources Tab

        3. These will be seen on the Learners landing page when they first log in:

        4. The toolbar gives basic editing functionality

            1. The source button will show the HTML code generated.  You may use this if you want to add anything more complex into these tabs.

            2. NOTE: To enable the content of these tabs to be viewed well on mobile phones we recommend that you do not use the table function.

        5. Press Save to continue

        6. Your course will now be visible in the list.

        7. Click on Sessions to add sessions (UNITS)

        8. Each Session (UNIT) represents a collection of work that a student will submit to be marked.  It could be the whole course in one go in which case add only 1 session (UNIT).  If the qualification is to be broken into smaller ‘bite-sized chunks’ then add a number of Sessions (units) as per the image below.

        9. Click on the CREATE NEW button

        10. Add a Name, Description and Order no.  The order number refers to the order in which the student will view it.

        11. Once you have created the list this is what it will look like for a Learner

        12. Now we need to add some tasks for each session (UNIT). Click on the Tasks link.

        13. You must add a minimum of 1 task for each session (UNIT)

        14. You do this by clicking on the  CREATE NEW  button

        15. The Reference is what is shown in the TAB on the learners screen.

        16. Here’s what the learner sees

        17. The WordCount is important as it both guides the learner and makes the size of the text box respond to the length required.

        18. The maximum number of TASKS per session (UNIT) depends upon the length of text you use in the Ref. box.  Here we see a simple two digit reference allowing for around 25 TASKS.  If the reference text was too long then there would not be rook on the page to accommodate.

        19. You have now created a course. Now to create an instance of this course that you can enrol learners onto. These are known as RUN IDs
